Overview

Red Bull MOBILE Data is an app-based travel eSIM operated by A1 Telekom Austria AG, covering 100+ countries with per-GB pricing (Europe from €2/GB, regional rates vary). Officially the line is data-only: new users get the first 100MB free, no basic fees, no subscription, and your existing number stays untouched. Community guides (2025-2026, multiple independent sources) discovered the practical bonus: installing the eSIM assigns an Austrian (+43) mobile number that receives registration and verification SMS, reportedly valid 365 days at no cost and without KYC — and promo codes (e.g. REDBULL1GBFREE, TRAVELDEALZ) stack a further 1GB for a combined ~1.1GB free allowance.

How to claim (community route)

Download "Red Bull MOBILE Data: eSIM" (App Store / Google Play, publisher A1 Telekom Austria AG), register an account in-app, tap Activate eSIM and install the profile. The phone needs native eSIM support to open the app at all; the profile can alternatively be installed via eSIM-capable adapter cards. After the activation SMS arrives, the Austrian (+43) number appears on iPhone automatically; Android users may need to call their local carrier's service line echo to read the number out, per community guides. Promo codes are entered under Settings > Promocodes.

Why people keep it installed

The Austrian number receives registration and verification SMS for mainstream platforms, which community guides rate as more reliable than virtual numbers from some competitors. The 100MB base doubles as a bootstrap line for ESTK/eSIM-adapter users who need connectivity to download further eSIM profiles. Data exits via A1 Austria with a Vienna IP.

The catches

The number is an undocumented emergent feature, not a contractual promise: in December 2025 forum users reported SMS reception breaking mid-validity, and there is no SLA to appeal to. The eSIM can be installed only once — deleting the profile burns it. Keep-alive guidance from the community: avoid consuming the 100MB base data, as it is the preferred bucket for keeping the line active. Mainland-China iPhones without native eSIM are excluded by the app's device check.

100MB free base is official (App Store / Play listing by A1 Telekom Austria AG, re-checked 2026-10-12); per-GB paid pricing from esim.redbullmobile.com (Europe €2/GB). The Austrian number, 365-day validity, no-KYC claim and 1GB promo codes are community-reported (2025-2026 guides and forums), not published on official pages — App behavior governs.
